The Dark Industrial act Attrition premieres new song/video for ‘The Alibi’ off its upcoming new album release The Black Maria via its own Two Gods record label. This marks one of the first tastes of dark delicacies to come with an accompanying video along with some choice remixes from Bellhead, Vaselyne, Steckdose and Follynator.
“Some of you may know my song “A girl called harmony” written about my first wife Marianne after we split in 1990…. The Alibi has a similar theme…but different person… i know…the clue is there from the start…. i always told her “third time lucky”. Its my first full video production so i had a lot to learn, and still do…. but its film making (which) is something i am also going to pursue,” says founder Martin Bowes.
Dark electronic pioneers, ATTRITION were formed in 1980 in Coventry, England, influenced by a mix of punk ideology and experimental art aesthetics, they emerged as part of the early ’80’s UK Industrial scene alongside contemporaries Coil, Test Department, Legendary Pink Dots, In The Nursery, Portion Control et al.
Martin Bowes has steered the band through a 40 year career, fueled by a countless succession of critically acclaimed albums…The band has regularly toured Europe, North America and South America, Russia and Asia, appeared at major festivals and had their music included on a number of TV and film soundtracks.
ATTRITION toured in the UK, Italy, New Zealand, Transylvania, Canada and Japan in 2018/19. The new album The Black Maria is set for release later in 2021 with supporting shows around the world. ‘The Alibi’ is now available via the bands Bandcamp HERE.
