Chris Connelly’s vocal tracks paint a picture of isolation and broken dreams cast against a backdrop of abandoned cityscapes. All is not bleak, however. Seattle-based saxophonist Amy Denio adds an element of jazzy nonchalance, like singing in an acid rain. And Marselle Hodges’ backing vocals add the exaltation and rise of a church choir.
