Bauhaus founder David J has announced that he will be embarking on a ‘Missives And Miles’ Euro/UK tour this fall in support of his anticipated upcoming new album Missive To An Angel From The Halls Of Infamy And Allure. The album is a highly ambitious and intensely personal, self deprecating, confessional song cycle, which details a period of profound transition. It will be released on double vinyl, CD and digitally as of October 18 via London-based Glass Modern Records.
Although it contains many complex tangents the album is at it’s core a confessional love letter to my wife which details a period of great transition and the challenges that come with that. (My wife is the nude in the painting on the front cover & also in the old photo on the back (taken by my brother) which also shows me wearing a Frankenstein monster mask.) ~ David J
David J will be joined by the great Karel Holas on violin for most dates. Karel played on the album which was recorded at his First Floor studio in Prague. Robert Vasicek, who also contributed to David’s album, will play piano and Fiona Brice (Placebo, Elbow, John Grant, Simply Red) will play violin for the Lisbon, Leira, Porto, Barcelona, Madrid and Paris shows. Special guest on all dates will be singer/songwriter Micky Greaney, whose forthcoming album is being produced by David J. The tour kicks off in Berlin on October 12, 2019.
