John Fryer’s Black Needle Noise recently signed to the legendary Cleopatra Records label for it’s forthcoming ‘This Mortal Covers’ album. The first single ‘She Talks To Angels’ features the vocals of actress Anjela Piccard along with Fryer’s signature dark waves of sound. The song was originally released in 1990, written and recorded by the American rock band The Black Crowes (Chris and Rich Robinson) which reached #1 on the US Album Rock Charts (Billboard Magazine). ‘She Talks To Angels’ is the first of many more covers songs to come by Black Needle Noise on ‘This Mortal Covers’.
The song starts off with a powerful introduction that instantly had me turning up the volume. Anjela Piccard’s emotionally charged and commanding vocals mixed in unison with Fryer’s wall of sound makes for the perfect convergence of American rock meets dark wave at it’s finest. Black Needle Noise ‘She Talks To Angels’ is now available for purchase via bandcamp HERE.
“There are moments in this life that are both catastrophic and quite triumphant, the intention in recording the song she talks to angels is one of reflection and understanding, at some point we all can find ourselves in total relation to the lyrics and the instrumental flow of the track, as for myself the New Orleans / Los Ánjeles connection remains an anchor of the heart : as both cities represent a long-standing spiritual melange : unparalleled in beauty and gracious acceptance of its people.”
